Censorship, "September 10": Jean-Luc Mélenchon relaunches his solo maneuvers before the rest of the left

Each at their own pace. While Jean-Luc Mélenchon and the rebels have already launched into the back-to-school battle, calling for a full-scale mobilization this Sunday to "bring down" François Bayrou's government, the other left-wing parties are still waiting before defining their slogans.
Like the LFI leader, all of them are suggesting that they could censure the Prime Minister on the budget this fall. However, unlike the rebels, they are, for the moment, refraining from clearly supporting the "block everything on September 10" movement.
This was formed through calls for blocking on social networks from various quarters, in response in particular to the budget cuts wanted by the executive.
The Greens, who are organizing their return to Strasbourg this Thursday, will define their position in the coming days. "Personally, I'd rather be part of it because a convergence of struggles is being organized, but I can't tell you the party's position yet," said MP Sandra Regol, adding:
"There is a desire in this movement not to be taken over by political parties, so we don't want to preempt it and we are taking more time to respond. This is not the position of La France Insoumise, which directly supports the demands emerging within the population."
Like their Green colleagues, the Socialists believe it is still too early to make any predictions. "We are observing, we are watching what is happening, sometimes with benevolence regarding demands related to social justice, but we are not here to be at the forefront of the social movement," reports MP Arthur Delaporte.
In this regard, the Socialist Party is awaiting union slogans. While several departmental unions and CGT federations are already planning to mobilize on September 10, the various confederations are meeting on September 1 to discuss the actions to be taken, after denouncing the cost-cutting measures sought by François Bayrou.
"We're leaving the unions free to organize themselves," Barbara Gomes, spokesperson for the French Communist Party, told us, while also stating that the "September 10th mobilization is very important." So, we'll have to be patient before we know what everyone decides.
